CHEMA MADOZ
The MASTER of illusion
In this other image he places some train tracks
instead of the watch straps, simulating the passage of time.
In this work we see how he plays with reality mixing elements as different as a tree and a cloud, whose union simulates a tree grown in the sky.
A Visual Metaphor is a resource of poetry that consists in using an object to designate another and thus appropriate its qualities.
In the visual metaphors of Chema Madoz, many literary allusions often abound; and often, the objects (everyday) to which photography acquires meanings in contradiction with the one they had in their origin. Therefore, his works play with our imagination and invite us to ask ourselves questions that make us think about the reality behind his concepts.
Personal opinion:
In my opinion this is one of the best Spanish artists of surrealism, that ability to create such images of such an igenium with simple everyday objects and that way of playing with the metaphor and the visual perception of the viewer simply fascinates me.
